Welcome to the Life Lab Science ProgramWelcome everyone, Welcome to a new year full of growth, collaboration, and fun! As the Life Lab/Learning Support/Extended Care position, I have the great privilege of working with the whole Laureate School community. Through the Life Lab Science program, I will be focusing on teaching science concepts through gardening. This is a new position at The Laureate, now with the Garden Project in its third year, and I am excited to share ideas, collaborate, and continue to build upon The Laureate's beautiful garden classroom. Life Lab is a nonprofit organization based out of the University of California, Santa Cruz and supports California's state initiative to implement nutrition, science, and environmental education through gardens and other "living laboratories." More information can be found at www.lifelab.org. Also, if any parents have helped in the past or would like to get involved in the gardens, the Farmer's Market, or have any questions, please contact me at hnoyes@laureate.com. As the Learning Support teacher, I will be working closely with lower elementary teachers to provide more differentiation and individualized instruction in the classroom. During the Extended Care time, I hope to learn more about the students, garden, play educational outdoor games, do arts ‘n crafts, and more. Heather Noyes - Life Lab Science Teacher |
