Toddler Room WelcomeThe Toddler Teachers welcome you to the Toddler Room. Welcome to the returning students and parents as well as the new students and parents for the 2010-2011 school year. This is going to be a great year filled with learning, art, music, Spanish, and preparedness for their preschool years. Parents please feel confident that your children will be well cared for while also getting a great education. Your toddlers will be learning routine, sharing, independence, caring, self confidence, self esteem, as well as the big " POTTY TRAINING". Your child's socialization will truely blossom.Spanish and music are also integrated into our curriculum. The children love this and learn a lot from our Spanish teacher and our music teacher Ms.Lewis. Pretty soon you will start to hear them singing songs you have never heard as well as reciting words and counting in Spanish. It is truely amazing. Birthdays are also celebrated, we honor them by the child wearing a birthday crown and sitting in our special birthday chair while having a song sung to them. Parents you may also bring a treat on a designated day that is arranged by you and your child's teacher. We prefer healthy treats, however, cupcakes are okay but please with minimal frosting. We will be having two big performances of the year, our Winter Holiday performance and The End of the Year performance. We also have observations in November and scheduled conferences in April and May. Look out for postings regarding these things on the inside of our front door. PARENTS: Just a few tips: we encourage you to be on time for drop off and pick up. Our last and final drop off time in the morning is 9:00 am, as we hold our first circle time than and this is a very important time for your child. This is when we greet each child individually and say good morning. This gives your child the chance to get to know their teachers as well as their fellow classmates. This is also a great way for them to start their day. Don't forget to sign your child in and out every day. Please know that whoever is picking up your child other than mom or dad they must be in your child's file in the office and they will be asked for ID to verify who they are before your child will be allowed to leave. Please also check your child's cubbie daily for any important paper work or art projects. Please do not dress your child in their best of clothes when coming to class " REMEMBER THIS IS THEIR WORK AND THEY LOVE IT." When your child's diapers are low or if they need more spare clothes, you will be given a note on their sign in and out sheet. Please apply sunscreen daily. Also please, no onesies these are difficult when changing and potty training, snaps or elastic waists work best. Please remember to bring a labeled blanket for nap time, and a labeled bag of extra clothes with a sweater or sweatshirt included. We also encourage healthy lunches so please be sure to include all major food groups, no drink needed we provide milk or water. If you choose, hot luches are available to purchase you can inquire about this in the main office. We are so excited for this wonderful new school year, and remember your child is truely loved. Sincerely Your Toddler Teachers |
