Admission - Enrollment

Admissions Policy

The Laureate School's admissions procedure begins with a visit to the school. We welcome prospective parents to The Laureate within Open House events held throughout the year (see below), or through individual tours arranged with the school. Prior to enrollment, primary, elementary, and middle school students visit the school and their prospective classes, and are assessed by the grade-level teacher. Assessments vary depending on grade level.

Children are accepted on the basis of their capacity to participate in, and benefit from, the school program. The Laureate School celebrates students' unique learning styles and values a diverse student body.

To place your child in the school's wait pool, a $125 non-refundable registration fee is required to cover administrative costs with the Application Form.

The Laureate does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, or handicap in its admissions practices.

Admissions Tours and Events

Our admissions events and tours provide prospective parents with an overview of The Laureate's vision and mission, specific program information, along with the opportunity to visit inside the classrooms and meet our teachers and students. Parents of younger children are encouraged to attend unaccompanied by their children to ensure adequate time to see multiple classrooms and to get the most from the time spent with your Laureate tour guide. However, middle school students often accompany their parents.

Individual and Group Tours

Toddler and Primary Program
Contact the school directly to arrange an individual or group tour for the Toddler (ages 18-36 months) and Primary Programs (ages 3-5 years).

Elementary and Middle School, K-8

Contact the school directly to arrange an individual tour for grades K-8.

Open Houses

All programs

Open House events provide the opportunity to meet together with the school administration, current Laureate parents, and other parents who are considering The Laureate School, in addition to taking a full school tour. Upper elementary and middle school students are welcome and may sit in on a grade-level class or remain with their parents, as they choose. Please call for tour dates.

(We ask that parents do not bring younger siblings on tours or to Open Houses in order to keep distractions to a minimum and receive the most thorough experience possible.)

Shadow Days

Elementary and Middle School (only)
For elementary (K-5) and middle school (6-8) tours, or to arrange a Shadow Day where your child can spend all or part of the day with their grade-level class, contact our Head of School, Roz Reymers at the school's main number, or by email at: rreymers@laureateschool.org.

Enrollment Procedures

When you are notified of an opening for your child, a non-refundable tuition payment equal to one is required to reserve the spot. At the time your child starts attending school, the annual comprehesive fee of $175 and the current months tuition payment is due. Although monthly installments can be arranged, tuition is charged on an annual basis and is non-refundable. Enrollment is open throughout the school year as openings allow.

Open Enrollment for the following school year begins mid March.

Re-enrollment
Priority Re-enrollment Forms for the following year are sent out in mid February and are due back by mid March. In order to reserve your child's space in the next year's class, a one-month, non-refundable tuition payment must be attached to the completed and signed Re-enrollment Form.

Withdrawal
The Administration is committed to ensuring a successful school year of each student. Should the Administration determine that, after working together with parents on issues occuring for a child, that the School is not able to meet the child's needs within the School's program, it would be deemed necessary for the parents to withdraw their child prior to the end of the year.  Withdrawal of a student may be requested by the school if, at any time, the Administration feels that the school has failed to inspire the best efforts of the student or that the rapport between the family and the school has been compromised. (As stated above, the annual comprehensive fee and the June tuition payment are not refundable.)
